As If It’s Just About To Happen
To access what persists in the entanglement of artistic and pedagogic practices, this project returns to four workshops, facilitated within HZT (Inter-Universtiy Center for Dance Berlin) BA Dance, Context, Choreography programme between 2014–2016, with the question “What was and is it doing and what can we create with it now?”
Initial experiences, notes and memories from the workshops were approached with a strategy of interruption - a structure of excerpts, footnotes, invitations and responses - that produced a new order of connections based on selectivity, discontinuity and proliferation. Readers are encouraged to be involved with the passages of writings and drawings within the books—to follow, skip across, take apart, expand, reassemble, rewrite and respond further. To experience what is still creating itself, as if it’s just about to happen.
The series of four books was initiated and directed by Litó Walkey, and published by HZT Berlin. Core writers Florian Feigl, Sheena Mcgrandles, Litó Walkey and Britta Wirthmuller were joined by HZT students and alumni, guest artists and illustrations by Tabea Xenia Magyar. The books were copy edited by Karen Christopher and designed by Carsten Stabenow and Andreas Töpfer of Milchhof Atelier.
The publication was exhibited at Strahler Gallery Berlin, accompanied by performative readings, workshops and Hawaiian music by Hula Hut and the Seven Seas.

About
Litó
Walkey is a Berlin based artist whose work
operates through performance, writing and choreography
exploring non-hegemonic
strategies for being connected,
resourceful, and response-able.
In
her work,
attentiveness
procedures emphasize
lateral and divergent thinking to
consider the radical potential of marginal, accidental, and less
visible phenomena. Collaborating through circuits of transversal interdisciplinary processes, Litó aims to create public
spaces for critical thinking and experimentation unbound by single
authorship, discipline or terminus.
Litó’s work has been supported through artistic commissions
from international choreographic performance festivals
and organizations.
The work is complimented
by ongoing
discourse and
practice-based exchange with colleagues and
students inside and outside academic environments.
